DVBLink for IPTV was a popular commercial software suite developed by DVBLogic designed to centralize and manage live television streams, effectively transforming a standard PC or Network Attached Storage (NAS) device into a powerful smart media server. Core Purpose & Functionality
The software acted as a backend bridge. It took incoming IPTV streams—as well as physical signals like Satellite (DVB-S/S2), Cable (DVB-C), and Terrestrial (DVB-T/T2)—and distributed them dynamically across a user’s entire home network.
Centralized Recording (PVR): It featured a built-in recording engine. This allowed users to schedule recordings in original quality directly onto their PC’s local hard disk or NAS.
Network Tuning: Instead of installing a TV tuner card or configuring IPTV playlists on every individual device, users configured DVBLink once on the server. The server then “served” the channels to other devices seamlessly.
Electronic Program Guide (EPG): It integrated XMLTV format program guides so users could browse TV listings, read show descriptions, and easily manage timer recordings remotely. Multi-Device Ecosystem
Once the server was running, users could access their live TV and recordings through various software clients and hardware:
